"We honor the past, celebrate the present and embrace the future"

About Us

Since October 1931, the SAWAU has linked women across cultural borders around the country and has provided training towards the development of our people and our country.

The organisation has successfully adapted to the many changes in the world and the country and continues to meet the needs of its members. Comprising affiliated societies of like nature, SAWAU has become one of the greatest women’s organisations in South Africa with more than 7000 members in South Africa and Namibia.

In the dissemination of culture in many facets and in the improvement of educational facilities, SAWAU members have a proud record of service to their homes, their communities and their country.
